The start

Biogas Leeuwarden started in 2015 as a joint initiative by WUR (Wageningen University & Research), the Municipality of Leeuwarden and the Province of Fryslân. The objective: producing sustainable energy. The biogas plant is located on the Dairy Campus in Leeuwarden.

Improvement

Its completion was made possible thanks to investments from FSFE and its partner the National Green Fund, among others. In 2018, BioValue decided to take over the management of the plant. The main objective was to get production back on track. This was achieved by improving the technology of the plant.
